Leadership

Spiritual direction and leadership for Huntingdonshire Community Church is given by the Eldership team, which has 4 members.

Matthew Brown, HCC Senior Pastor

Before joining HCC, Matt taught Bible at an international Christian school in Rio de Janeiro. He also spent 15 years in pastoral ministry with The Salvation Army, working first in London and later in Rio. Prior to ministry, Matt studied chemistry at Kingston University in London, earning a Bachelor of Science, and worked for three years in the chemical industry before entering The Salvation Army Training College.

He is the proud dad of two amazing teenagers—Deborah, a university student, and Zech, an A-level student—whom he loves deeply.

Matt loves God, and cultivating a strong relationship with Him through prayer and Scripture is foundational to his life. He is passionate about the transforming power of faith in Jesus and believes wholeheartedly that Jesus can bring lasting change to individuals, families, and communities. His deepest longing is to see God’s Kingdom come “on earth as it is in Heaven.”

In his spare time, Matt enjoys music and plays the cornet. He also loves cycling, going for walks, and taking in beautiful scenery.

Matt has also written a book called – For a reason: Key’s from God to help you through unexpected crises. You can find out more at the following link – https://amzn.eu/d/aRRg7jD
