Prayer should lie at the heart of all we do in God. At HCC, we hold prayer as a high priority and believe it should be a ‘seam’ running through all we do.
There are many opportunities for prayer in HCC. We meet every Sunday for prayer at 9.30am, before the meeting. Twice a year, in January and September, we hold weeks of prayer.
Prayer is two-way communication with God. As well as bringing our requests to Him, we seek to be continually listening to God for the direction He wants us to go as a church.
We pray for individuals in the church, for HCC’s mission in Huntingdonshire, for our town and country and for the nations.
We also pray as part of any church activity, and especially in our small groups. Prayer triplets also operate within the church, where members of the fellowship make a regular time to get together, pray and be accountable to each other.
We also encourage everyone to make prayer a major part of their ongoing Christian lives. We believe that prayer, or talking with God, is a key discipleship practice that moves us on in our relationship with God.
